By Car and by Bus

  • in the direction from the city of Žďár nad Sázavou – along the road I/37, at the intersection of Bezručova and Santiniho streets, turn right onto Sychrova street, continue up the hill – the Church of St. John of Nepomuk on Zelená hora is right in front of you, go around the mountain on the right side of the hill and go straight to the small parking lot in front of the monument area on Zelená hora (max. 5 cars). Buses can only drive to the small parking lot, stop for the time necessary for passengers to get off/on and drive to the parking lot at the Kinský Castle on Santiniho street.
  • in the direction from Pardubice and Ždírec nad Doubravou – along the road I/37, at the first turning after the Baroque bridge with statues, at the intersection of Santiniho and Bezručova streets, turn left and you will see the church of St John of Nepomuk at Zelená Hora directly in front of you. You will go around the mountain on the right side of the hill and then straight to the small parking lot in front of the monument area on Zelená Hora (max. 5 cars). Buses can only drive to the small parking lot, stop for the time necessary for passengers to get on/off, and then drive to the parking lot at the Kinský Castle on Santiniho street.

By Train or Bus

Žďár nad Sázavou is located on the railway line no. 250, which connects to the line no. 230 and allows access to Prague, Kolín, Golčův Jeníkov, Havlíčkův Brod, Tišnov and Brno. It is  part of the so-called second main railway line of the Czech Republic.

Žďár nad Sázavou is located on the first class road I/37 connecting Trutnov, Hradec Králové, Pardubice, Chrudim, Žďírec nad Doubravou and Velká Bíteš - with a connection to the D1 to Brno.

The train and bus stations are located in Žďár nad Sázavou at the same location. The monument area of ​​the pilgrimage church of St John of Nepomuk at Zelená hora is about 4 km away from the train and bus stations on foot. To overcome this distance, you can use the city public transport lines directly from the bus and train station:

Near the monument area of ​​the pilgrimage church of St John of Nepomuk at Zelená hora, there is a cycle route No. 5061.
Right in front of the southeast gate to the monument area of ​​the pilgrimage church (towards the small parking lot), there are bike racks, some more racks are located in the cloister, to the right of the southeast gate, for a total of about 30 bikes.

On Foot

In close proximity to the monument area of ​​the pilgrimage church of St John of Nepomuk at Zelená hora, there is a yellow marked tourist path that leads in one direction to Vysoké, Lhotka, Sklené and Medlov (in green) and in the other direction to the Kinský Castle, Adamův kopec, Peperek and Rozštípená skála. You can find the tourist crossroads at the memorable beech tree in front of the main western gate to the monument area of ​​the pilgrimage church of St John of Nepomuk.
